Magazine Iconography

Here I will be looking at the type of clothes artists wear on magazine front pages and within magazines to show their genre.

Lorde The type of clothing that Lorde is wearing is dark, baggy clothing. Lorde also appears to be wearing a blazer.	The Killers Brandon Flowers, a member of the Killers is wearing a black leather jacket with a black vest top underneath it.	Ed Sheeran Ed Sheeran is seen wearing a grey and black bomber-type jacket with a black tee underneath it. Ed Sheeran is also holding a guitar which shows the type of genre that he famously represents.
Mia Mia is seen wearing a union jack vest top with an oversized acid-wash denim jacket over the top. The denim jacket has its sleeves rolled up.	Foals The range of clothing varies immensely in this picture as there are flannel shirts, plain tees, patterned tops, scarves and bomber jackets. The main colours used are grey, black and white.	Arctic Monkeys The type of clothing seen by Arctic Monkeys in this front page are tight t-shirts and shirts, dark blue or black jeans and bomber jackets.
The 1975 - Matt Healy Even though you can not see the entirety of Matt Healys outift, it is clear by the small amount that you can see that he is wearing a black blazer and a white shirt.	HAIM In this double page spread article of HAIM you can see that they are wearing black or brown ankle boots. One of the sisters is wearing black jeans whilst another is wearing a blue skirt and the last one is wearing black shorts. Two of the three girls are wearing leather jackets, one of which has a lot of red on it. The other girl is wearing a black blazer.	Jake Bugg In this double page spread article of Jake Bugg you can see that he is wearing a black tee with a black bomber jacker over the top. The smaller picture in the top right shows Jake Bugg with a guitar which helps identify the music genre.
Kasabian Kasabian are wearing two very different jackets, one being brown and the other being leopard print. One has a blue shirt on whilst the other has a low cut black vest top.	Miles Kane Miles Kane is wearing a black roll neck top with a black and navy blue striped blazer. He is also wearing black trousers. Miles also has an electric guitar in his hands which shows the type of genre he plays.
